The British Council administers exams on behalf of many UK and international univerties and colleges, making distance learning possible around the world.

We make sure you have a simple and straightforward experience, from the moment you register for the university exam to the day you get your results. 

We’ll look after the whole process, from providing the exam venue and professionally trained supervisors to having your exams processed by the exam board. 

All you need to do is prepare for your exam and turn up on exam day.

University of London degrees have been accessible to students worldwide through their International Programmes since 1858. Today, the University of London has over 40,000 students in more than 180 countries studying for 100 different programmes

Registrations for the University of London exams start on Wednesday 22 January 2025 and close on Thursday 27 February 2025. Distance learners can now sit for their University of London exams with the British Council and complete their degrees without leaving Ghana. Exams will take place in Accra. 

How do I register?

You will have to register with The University of London first. Please check our downloads section at the bottom of this page for information regarding May-June 2025 exams.

Please note that a valid passport or national identification document (ID) is mandatory when sitting for these exams.

We feel sure you will understand, however, that we cannot be held responsible for any interruptions caused by circumstances beyond our control. If examinations or their results are disrupted, cancelled or delayed, every effort will be made to resume normal services as soon as possible. The British Council’s liability will be limited to the refund of the registration or re-testing fee at a later date.

The British Council will not be responsible for the recognition of your programme/university course. It is solely the responsibility of the student to confirm if the programme/university course is approved in Botswana.
