The British Council in collaboration with the Botswana Association of Teachers of English (BATE) is embarking on a training for Senior Teacher- Languages (Primary Schools) and Teachers of English (Junior Secondary Schools) on how to use  the Premier Skills English programme to promote the teaching of English Language. The training will be held from the 22 to 24 August 2017 at Tlokweng Education Centre, starting at 08.00.

Premier Skills is an international partnership between the British Council and the English Premier League, which among others, supports English language learning through a range of online and hard-copy resources. The Premier Skills English language resources are for learners and teachers. They cover interactive exercises based around text and video for learners, and lesson plans and ideas for teachers for the same content areas.

The training will also help the teachers implement the integration of ICT in teaching and Learning as it requires the use of computers. The schools participating in the programme were chosen on the basis of them having received tablets through the Thuto-net initiative.

The Primary schools are requested to send their Senior Teacher Languages while Junior Secondary Schools are to send one teacher of English to this training.
